  As I pulled up the open sign was literally being shut off, their hours of operation sign said they closed at 8pm. The employee/owner was just locking the door and saw me walking up. He opened the door and welcomed me in and said they are just closing but he would be happy to make me something, but did hurry me along. I ended up getting serviced with a smile as I discussed with him my poor experience at Extreme Pita in Shawnessy who said they were closed even though the open sign was on and the door was unlocked. I have been to this Original Donair location 3 or 4 times with my family. The service speed is average at best, however, the small talk and conversation is always genuine and the food is always fantastic. The beef and chicken is grilled after they take it off of the rotisserie and the "bang for the dollar" is excellent. The small portion size is more than enough for a large appetite. I believe this is a single owner operator. He has great food, generous portion sizes and a simple yet effective restaurant atmosphere. One of the better restaurants in the area.
