  Plain and simple, Kawa has always been one of my favorite cafes in this city. Being close to 17th Ave, there are no shortages of cafes (ie. Analog, waves, philosophy, etc.), However, what separates Kawa from other cafes in the area is the huge selection of drinks. Kawa serves both alcoholic and non-alcoholic drinks, as well as coffees and teas (obviously). What's special is that if you do decide on the alcoholic choices, there is a huge selection is from around the world. Kawa also boasts live music on some nights and stays open late. Again, being so close to 17th Ave but not directly on means less crowds and less waiting. Would definitely recommend.

  Espressos are great. One of the few cafes that open late. Staff can be a little off.

  The cabbage rolls were surprisingly good. They were the best I've had. I've only tried maybe two homemade cabbage rolls before this.

  The Saturday jam sessions here are a great experience for all ages. I have to come to many of them in the past year and it is great to see musicians of all ages play. To go along with the music there is great coffee and food. I highly recommend Kawa to everyone.
