  As a non profit organization, we could not do what we do without the help we get from the Calgary Food Bank. The staff are friendly and courteous. A pleasure to have this agency helping us to help others.

  Food bank is good for those in needs. The management must stop taking expired foods from stores. Too much expired foods have been served. It is a waste of time and waste of foods as everything going in the garbage. They should think about a law for donations. For some products donations should be served at least 3 months prior to the expired date, daily products it can be at least 2 weeks. The Government must think about laws for donations. Stores must send foods for donations at least 6 months before the expired date, 3 to 4 weeks for daily products. That way we will have no waste of foods and time and its will keep those in needs healthy. Expired foods can make people get sick. We can do it, let's do it! Like in Paris, they do it!   No one ever wants to use a food bank, it's upsetting enough to be in that position. However the staff and volunteers at the Calgary food bank make you feel a lot more at ease about everything. They're very friendly and welcoming. There's also plenty of pamphlets around to help connect with other services within in the city. The only downside is that often times the food can be so close to going bad you can't use it as a few times the bread was moldy. Remember to bring bags! They often dont have any for you to use.
